Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus…
1 December 2020My Reiki Journey
1 February 2021I bet your story is similar to mine. You’ve been waxing, like me, since you were a teenager and just stuck with it because despite the discomfort, it’s been the easiest form of hair removal. Shaving and hair removal creams can be messy and frustrating and for some skins, waxing causes further irritation. It was these frustrations of clients (and myself) that prompted me to find an alternative and did we ever! Let’s talk all things Sugaring.
What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is a form of hair removal that uses a gel-like paste to remove hair. The paste is formulated from natural ingredients and avoids the use of chemicals and additives.
Unlike waxing which sticks to both your hair and your skin, the Sugaring paste sticks to the hair only. This means hair removal is not only more comfortable but more precise too.
We choose Pharo Sugaring as our brand of choice as it is formulated with all-natural ingredients like lemon, water and sugar. This really aligned with our values and was the perfect hair removal solution that celebrated natural ingredients. Infused with luxurious manuka honey, our Pharo Sugaring Kit is so natural that they told us we could taste it (and you bet we did!).
How does the Sugaring process work?
The Sugaring process will feel similar to waxing, without some of the discomfort and after-effects. Once your skin is prepped, we’ll apply the Sugaring paste to your skin against the hair growth. Then, using cloth strips, we’ll remove the Sugaring paste and you’ll be left with smooth, hair-free skin.
What results can I expect from Sugaring?
Many of our clients that have transitioned to Sugaring from waxing make not of less discomfort during and after their treatments. When we’re talking about painful treatment areas like a Brazilian wax, this is a huge win!
If your skin is sensitive or you’ve had a reaction to waxing in the past, don’t be afraid to give Sugaring a try. The gentle hair removal process means Sugaring is significantly kinder to these reactive skin types than traditional waxing. Ingredients like aloe vera, organic brown sugar, manuka honey and lemon mean your skin is enjoying a multitude of delicious anti-bacterial and calming benefits during your treatment.
Sugaring doesn’t stick to your skin but rather the hair its removing which means we’re able to remove the hair from the root without the messy clean up. This means Sugaring is a great option for those that have curly hairs or are no stranger to ingrown hairs. It also means that the more you stay up to date with your Sugaring treatments, the less hair you may have to remove!
Be honest. Does Sugaring hurt?
At the end of the day, Sugaring is still a hair removal treatment, so we won’t tell you that it’s completely painless but when compared to methods such as waxing or laser, Sugaring takes the cake for comfort. Fortunately, our Sugaring paste is formulated with many soothing ingredients so from the moment it’s placed onto your skin, it’s calming at the same time as removing hair.
Where can I have Sugaring performed?
Sugaring can be performed in all of the same common hair removal areas you’ve had waxing performed. This includes legs, underarms, arms, brows, chin, lip, bikini line and Brazilian.
Treatments are swift which means less time on the bed and more time outside enjoying hair-free, carefree life.
