14 February 2023Three lessons we’re taking into 2023
Like many challenging periods in our lives, there is always an element of positivity we can learn and take with us as we come out the other side. It’s fair to say many of our lives were turned upside down throughout 2020 and 2021, but as we righted ourselves, we took some often confronting and eye-opening lessons with us.
One lesson that became increasingly clear in 2022 is the importance of slowing down and taking time for our mental wellbeing and nourishing our souls.
Being thrown back into work, socialising and simply not being in our own little worlds anymore, it was easy to lose sight of slowing down and taking care of our mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
In a world that often demands so much of us, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget to take care of ourselves. But as we have learned, taking time to rest, recharge, and practice self-care is essential for our souls.
PUT YOURSELF FIRST
Another lesson we have learned is to not let external pressures get in the way of putting ourselves first. It’s easy to get caught up in the expectations of others and forget that this is your life and we have the power to shape it as we see fit. By prioritising our own needs and desires, we can live a life that is authentic and true to ourselves.
Remember, it’s easy to put your work, family, partner and everything else first because they’re at the forefront of your mind. But if you make every decision based on everyone else, you will never truly live in your most authentic self. This is your life, live it for you.
Finally, we have learned that gratitude is everything. Did you know it’s a proven psychological fact that when we practice gratitude daily, we live happier and more positive lives?
It’s easy to focus on the negative and take the good things in life for granted, but as we have learned in the past year, it’s the small things that make all the difference. By cultivating a daily practice of gratitude, we can find joy and contentment in even the most challenging of circumstances.
Whatever has brought the sunshine to your heart, is something to be grateful for.
GRATITUDE
Gratitude is something we will continue to practice and we encourage you to do the same.
As we are now into the second week of the new year, we will carry these lessons with us and strive to live each day with intention and purpose.
We invite you to join us on this journey and make the most of every moment in the year ahead.
