9 September 2019Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus…
1 December 2020If you’ve been with us for a while now, you’ll know we haven’t always been Beaute and Be. In fact, there’s been a few words that have followed our signature Beaute name! Celebrating 20 years of Beaute in 2020, we’re taking a walk down memory lane to remember the Beaute’s that have come, gone and evolved; just as we have.
Where It All Began – Beaute Junction Cottage
Established in the 80’s, Beaute was known as Beaute Junction Cottage. Originally located in a cottage-like space, the original owner Michelle gave the space a name to reflect its homely feel.
When Natasha purchased the salon, not only did she completely transform the way the salon looked but donned it a new name – Beaute Junction, because let’s face it, she’s not much of a cottage girl. To this day, people still refer to the salon as Beaute Junction!
At A Crossroads – Madame B And A Farewell To Beaute Junction
A few years later, she was ready to expand the business even further. So, whilst waiting for plans and approvals, she opened Madame B (no prizes for guessing what that B stood for) a home wares boutique.
Unfortunately, those approvals never worked in her favour and plans for expansion became a snazzy lunchroom and a space to hold Reiki Seminars. Not all was lost!
As Natasha’s journey with Reiki grew and grew, she started to feel a shift in energy. Feeling stuck and stagnant within the building and within her business at that time.
After connecting with a vibrant woman named Chris, specialising in Feng Shui, Numerology and colours, when Chris saw the Beaute space, she wasn’t surprised Natasha was feeling this way! Not only was the energy not the best but the name, Beaute Junction, meant Natasha was at a crossroads with what direction to take her business in. It was time for a change. She knew she was never going to let go of the Beaute name; it was what the business was known for after all, but it was time for the business to look and feel different.
It’s A Numbers Game – Beaute Connection
Chris and Natasha work-shopped name after name to find one that stuck. Rattling off words to complement Beaute; seeking a name that truly created a connection. Lightbulb moment! That was it! Beaute Connection. The moment the words left her mouth, they knew it was a sign. With the numbers perfectly aligning to Natasha, Connection had truly made its impact that day.
Next it, it was creating (Beaute) connection through colour. Fuchsia pink and white represented all of Natasha’s dreams and ideas coming to fruition. Known as the girls with the pink uniforms, these colours are now synonymous with our brand. Donning our bold new uniforms and fresh logo, it was time to find the perfect space.
Downsizing – The New Chapter for Beaute Connection
With five treatment rooms, four nail stations and a spray tanning space, it was time to downsize Beaute Connection and focus on what we really loved doing. Speaking out loud, Natasha exclaimed “I wish I could find a space with just two rooms!” and alas, once again, the universe had her back.
The very next day, a space right next door became available for lease. Two rooms, just what she wanted with sink and cabinets ready to go. It was perfect! Without hesitation we put our business on wheels and moved upstairs. We asked for a six month trial, committed to 12 and ended up staying for six years! This was our space… until it wasn’t.
Do We Stay OR Do We Go? Crafting Beaute and Be
Comfortable in our two roomed space upstairs, but the business wasn’t growing or expanding. Once again it was time to move on. Beaute Connection had served her well, but a refresh was on the cards. Natasha started this next chapter by looking for a new space and this time, not just in The Junction. She was chasing change and wasn’t certain that it could be found in The Junction any longer. Following a business networking event, Natasha reflected on the relationships and connections she had formed in this friendly suburb and decided this was home; this was where the business would stay. That word CONNECTION again!
After some searching, sourcing spaces that just didn’t quite match our energy, our dream space became available. The fitout began and everything just fell into place. One thing that came with us? Our signature pink wall.
Once again, it was a name game. This time, it was about finding synergy between Natasha’s two great passions – Beaute and Reiki. She booked in a reading to seek guidance from the universe. During that reading, Natasha was asked if she wanted to know what she should call the business and of course, said yes! The response? Beauty and the Bees. Ahhh… NO universe, not this time. This sounded more rock ‘n roll than relax and rejuvenate!
Then BE came into play. “Just be”. Natasha always encourages her clients to just be. It’s the still place where miracles are formed, where self-love is discovered and where escaping from the world around you, even just for a short while, is possible.
From name changes, new spaces, hot pink walls and not so great French (we’re getting there, Sothys!), Beaute was and always will be a space to just be. Beaute and Be was born.
